Is the Tecno Pova Slim 5G the Best Stylish 5G Phone for Everyday Use?

Friends, you’ll be surprised to see this phone when I held it for the 1st time, what a reaction I had!

Oh My God! It’s 5.95mm thin! Normally, phones like the S25 Ultra are 8-9mm thin, but this is 5.95mm!

I’m talking about the Tecno POVA Slim 5G. And that’s an interesting thing, as it’s the POVA of TECNO.

But I can’t see the TECNO branding anywhere on this phone. It’s just written POVA Slim 5G.

We’re going to do its unboxing & first impressions. There are a lot of interesting things in this phone.

And there are a few things that I think are very important. We’re going to tell you everything in this article.

TECNO POVA Slim 5G Unboxing

Tecno POVA Slim 5G is the 2nd largest service network provider. So there’s no problem in terms of service.

Once I show you the phone, it’s going to be fun! First, there’s documentation. Then there are stickers. There are stickers as well. So when you’re cleaning or servicing, there are stickers & speakers.

There’s a user manual & a 12-month warranty card. So that’s nice. There’s a thin case as well. You get a tempered glass as well. Not bad!

There’s Gorilla Glass 7i protection as well. It’s priced below Rs 20000. It’s a beautiful hard case. I’d say it’s frosted.

There’s a USB Type A to Type C charging cable. So that’s nice. And then you have a 45W charger.

This design is going to be seen in a lot of phones next year.
This is absolutely crazy & it feels so light in the hand. It’s like a feather.
It comes in 3 colours, white, blue & black. But I think this looks nice.

And you won’t be able to see the fingerprints on the white one. Even just like this, it’s very nice.

TECNO POVA Slim 5G Weight

Tecno Pova Slim 5g has 156g weight.

And you must be thinking that it’s so light that the battery must be small.
It has a 5160mAh battery.
The battery has increased.

TECNO POVA Slim 5G Ports & Buttons

Talking about ports & buttons, there’s a SIM tray at the bottom, a microphone, USB Type C, speaker grill.

On the right-hand side, there’s a power on & off button. And then you have a volume rocker.

There’s a noise-cancelling microphone at the top & Dolby Atmos is written on it. Even though there are mono speakers, Dolby Atmos is interesting.

I didn’t see the SIM card tool in the box, but it must be there. It was on the side of the box, that’s why I didn’t see it.
But yes, there’s a SIM card ejector tool in the box.

There’s everything, wow! This is how it should be; there should be so many things in the unboxing. There’s a dual nano SIM card slot, so that’s not an SD card slot.

TECNO POVA Slim 5G Build Quality

There’s Gorilla Glass 7i protection. It’s so thin. It looks durable. It comes with the protection of Gorilla Glass 7i.

It has a different in-hand feel. It feels so light, it doesn’t feel like the phone is in my hand. It feels like Feather.

TECNO POVA Slim 5G Display

Let’s start, we’ve seen it from the outside, now let’s see it from the inside. If I talk about the display, it’s 6.78” with 1.5K resolution, up to 144Hz. It’s a 3D curved display.

I think thinness is the biggest highlight. According to me, it’s the 2nd biggest highlight is its display.

It has a 4500 nits peak brightness. If you look at the bezels, the side bezels are nonexistent. The upper bezel is very thin, and even the chin is very thin. It’s a 3D curved display, and it looks really nice.

And by the way, look at the back. It has mood lighting, lighting effect duration, and you can even customise it. Notification, charging, low battery reminder, voice assistant, and flip to flash.

It’s not a notification light, it’s a notification LED strip. It definitely has a lot of bells & whistles.

TECNO POVA Slim 5G Specifications

But let’s talk about the specifications.

It comes with Dimensity 6400, 8GB RAM, 128GB base variant, and LPDDR4X RAM type.

It has a UFS 2.2 storage type, a 5160mAh battery & 45W charging.

You can charge up to 50% in 20-23 minutes. So battery life is absolutely no problem, despite being thin.

I’d say that if Dimensity 7300 were available instead of Dimensity 6400, it would’ve been better. But yeah, that’s what it is.

TECNO POVA Slim 5G Performance

It has an AnTuTu score of 4.6 Lakhs.

You can play 60FPS BGMI, but if you play consistently over a period of time, you should get up to 45FPS. But yes, 60FPS gaming is possible.

It’s 3D curved, and it’s not focused on gaming. It gives you a 5-year lag-free experience & it has TUV Rheinland certification.

TECNO POVA Slim 5G OS & UI

In fact, the OS is HiOS 15.1, which is based on Android 15. It feels really smooth, you won’t feel any stutter while swiping & touching. And it feels really clean.

If you uninstall some pre-installed apps, then you’re good to go. The widgets look very nice. Definitely, TECNO is improving on their OS.

You’ll get 1 year of major updates. So you’ll get Android 15 & Android 16. And 2 years of security updates. And yes, it’s written on the box that it’s the best AI.

TECNO POVA Slim 5G AI Features

Under Rs 20K, in terms of the number of AI features, you get a lot. If you look at the settings, there’s a complete compartment for AI called TECNO AI.

There are a lot of features like voice, smart touch, call assistant, AI translation, AI social assistant, AI document assistant, writing assistant, AI note, recording summary, AI subtitles, wallpaper generator, AI gallery, and circle to search.

There are a lot of features when it comes to AI. In terms of OS, it’s quite smooth & snappy. In terms of sensors, you get all the sensors.

TECNO POVA Slim 5G Sensors

There’s an AMOLED display, an in-display fingerprint sensor, and face unlock; it works extremely well. If I talk about the multimedia, it’s a beautiful display.

TECNO POVA Slim 5G Multimedia

You’ll enjoy watching the video. It has mono speakers but the quality is decent. It has Dolby Atmos even with mono speakers. In terms of connectivity, all 5G options are supported.

TECNO POVA Slim 5G Connectivity

There’s dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.4 & 4×4 MIMO support. So you should not have any problems in terms of network connectivity.

You can use 5G on both the SIM cards.
It supports DSDA, popular band N28 is also supported.
Connectivity is thumbs up, no problems.
It doesn’t support NFC.

Before talking about the camera, let’s talk about the other features.

It has a Military 810H certification, which is good for such a slim phone. It has an IP64 certification.

It has notification LED support. The camera module features an IR blaster.

It doesn’t support NFC & it has a USB 2.0 port. It has an FM radio & noise-cancelling microphone. It has a notification LED.

TECNO POVA Slim 5G Camera

It has a 50MP primary sensor & an AI sensor. It has a 13MP selfie sensor. Interestingly, TECNO is working on their camera.

It has a lot of features like AI GC Portrait, video mode, AI cam mode, portrait mode, super night mode, time lapse, dual video mode, vlog mode, slow motion, sky shop, pro, panorama, document, and super macro.

It has a lot of AI editing features. We’ve taken photos in different conditions. I’m giving you the G-Drive link.

Do check it out for the original quality. Interestingly, you can take 2X portrait photos. These are my first impressions, but the colours are good. You don’t see much colour variation, so that’s good.

The skin tones & details are good. So it feels like TECNO is definitely working on their cameras & post processing. You can shoot 2K 30FPS front & back in videography.

Conclusion

It looks so thin even with the case. Overall, if I talk about POVA Slim 5G, I like it. You can definitely see that it’s trying new things.

Even in their software, it looks like TECNO is putting a lot of effort. The display was amazing. I think this is a unique slim phone under Rs 20K.

With great display, great in-hand feel, really thin & good battery. That’s what POVA Slim 5G is.
